As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, there have been 21,628 positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Florida. The case count includes 20,984 Florida residents and 630 non-Florida residents. There are deaths reported and 3,050 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Department of Health. There have been 206,537 tests administered in Florida. A total of 21,628 tests have come back positive, and 183,694 tests have come back negative. The remainder are still pending, according to the FDOH website. One new death in Southwest Florida was a 71-year-old Lee County man who did not travel but did have contact with someone positive for COVID-19. The student has been isolated. FGCU said s/he was last on campus April 8 at Student Health Services, which has been closed for decontamination. It will reopen Thursday. FGCU said it will contact anyone who may have had contact with the student. The university previously confirmed April 9 that a student in West Lake Village and a staff member had tested positive.
