Tracking down supplies like toilet paper and hand sanitizer may seem like a full-time job, but help could be at your fingertips.

Today, we look at how your credit card could help.

Many credit cards offer the benefit of free concierge services. They usually help out with things like dinner reservations or travel plans.

But with life on hold, you can try using them for other things.

Ted Rossman with creditcards.com says to think of this service as a personal assistant who can help you research or make calls, adding, “Credit card concierge services are really a great free under the radar perk.”

For example, he wanted help tracking down toilet paper and gave both Visa and Citi Card a call.

Rossman said to his surprise, “they actually got back to me within an hour in the case of the Visa concierge. Citi took a little bit longer. They took a little bit more than a day.”

This service is available through Visa signature cards like Chase Freedom;
World and World Elite Mastercards like a Capital One Quicksilver; Select American Express cards, and most Citi Bank Cards.

“They’re at your disposal, they’re free,” Rossman explained. “There was no wait at all because I found a specific phone number for the concierge service that’s another tip so do a little online research try to find the concierge’s phone.”To see if your card offers this– call the number on the back.

If you’re trying to cut costs, now is a good time to research your free credit card benefits.

Some benefits may include extra rewards in categories like streaming services, grocery stores, and food delivery, which can all add up over time.

You may even be able to get rid of your cell phone insurance with your provider if your credit card offers the same thing for free.

If you’ve lost your job, you should always contact your card issuer rather than staying silent. Several card companies are allowing you to skip payments without penalty, waiving fees and/or lowering interest rates.
