The second egg in Harriet and M15’s nest has hatched!

After a while of wrestling its way out of the egg, we saw a wing just wiggling out at one point, E16 has finally hatched.

The new eaglet hatched around 6:48 p.m., about two and a half days after its sibling.

According to the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam, Harriet was feeding E15 when E16 came out ready and rarin’ to go!

The SWFL community is especially excited to have two new eaglets in the nest after a tragic end for the famous eagle couple’s last babies at the end of last year. Beloved E14 died from ingesting rat poison and the other egg never hatched.

It is some welcome good news amidst some tough times.
