School lunch for students. (Credit: MGN) Lee County schools started delivering food at bus stops Monday and there have already seen a number of kids taking part. Each bag has a healthy breakfast and lunch filled with food like oranges, milk and sandwiches. They’re working to make sure every student is fed. The school district will be serving food at about 15 bus stops from 9:45 a.m. to about 12:45 p.m. each day. The Lee County Schools’ food and nutrition specialist says they added the bus stops because they recognized a need in the community. Parents we talked to off-camera tell us the bus stops are convenient since some of them don’t have the transportation or convenience of getting to the school. Now, parents can pick up food without having their kids present. Click HERE for a list of Lee County “Gab & Go” meal pick-up sites.
