Southwest Florida teachers are out of the classroom but that is not stopping them from going to great lengths to care for your kids.

WINK News was tipped off about a group of teachers is referred to as “Teachers on A Mission” by a Facebook fan who wanted to shine a light on the way they are going above and beyond in these tough times.

The group prepares 100-150 meals per day and they aren’t for just students; teacher Ra’Nitra Codie says parents are welcome to eat as well.

The group offers nothing but support and love and food.

They said the meal preparations started because they were concerned about what some kids would eat while they are away from school.

“A lot of parents do work, so we want to know how we can come together to make sure that they eat every day,” Codie said.

They are taking precautions when it comes to safety—especially now.

“We make sure that we have on our hairnets, we wear gloves and we use Lysol wipes. We’re washing our hands nonstop and we have our masks that say ‘Teachers on a Mission,'” said one member of the teacher’s group.

They also say they want to bring more than just a meal; they are trying to bring a little joy in some tough times.

Teachers on A Mission deliver meals to their kids Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
