WINK News is helping you get your holiday packages on time and arrive safely with help from an Amazon driver who reveals what you need to do.

These drivers go the extra mile to make sure you get what you ordered quickly, but when it comes to the last step, your doorstep, you can do a lot to help.

To help them get your package to your door, if you live in a gated community, you should tell them the delivery company’s name and expected arrival time, or if there is a call box, make sure you give the driver your code.

One driver said the smallest details go a long way in helping them deliver your package.

If you have a house that is hard to find or access, consider leaving the driver special instructions by just going into your Amazon app, clicking on account info and under the shipping address, simply add shipping instructions.

“Packages go missing and get stolen all the time, so it’s useful to have as much helpful information as possible,” said delivery driver, Ellen Heald, from New York.

If you are worried about a driver having that information, don’t be.

The driver we spoke to says all of that info gets deleted as soon as they mark your package as delivered.

The final tip for you is that in the event a driver can’t find your house, they may give you a call or a text. In most cases that number will be from out of state, so don’t ignore it by assuming it’s just a scam.
