With Christmas one week out, many of you are packing up and getting ready to travel. WINK News is helping you make sure you have everything you need for your trip, without having to check a bag.

Betsy Opyt travels for a living and is always in tow with a little carry on luggage bag.

“I think this year, I’ve stayed at almost 90 hotels throughout the year. So I’m on the go a lot,” said Opyt.

Her number one tip for other travelers is to organize your outfits, starting from the bottom.

“I’ll pick one pair of shoes then pair a dress, a pantsuit, or just a casual outfit with it and then I always pack my tennis shoes because I work out wherever I go,” said Opyt.

If you plan to workout to curb those calories you take in on the trip, only pack one or two workout outfits, then hand wash them to reuse. Also, take all your clothes and put them in packing tubes to utilize all your space.

“It just keeps everything in one spot. It’s easy to unpack then repack,” said Opyt.

If you are traveling with kids, Opyt says she always squeezes more into her car seat bags.

Those are free to check, and you can stuff their must-have blankets or jackets that take up a lot of space.

One last hack to save you money on all that expensive airport food is to freeze water bottles to keep snacks cold.

The by the time you’re on the plane, there is a little extra water to drink, and you can refill it instead of buying water.

If you have other travel questions, you can ask TSA directly about what you can bring through security.

To send them a direct message with an image of what you are wanting to bring through security, you can submit the image through their Twitter or Instagram accounts.
