The Naples Daily News has announced they will be moving printing operations to Sarasota in February, cutting jobs.

The presses at the Naples Daily News also print The News-Press, a Fort Myers daily, as well as the Marco Eagle, The Banner, and the Collier Citizen.

The paper also says 49 full- and part-time jobs are being eliminated due to the move.

New Media recently merged with Gannett, owner of both Naples Daily News, The News-Press, and parent company of USA TODAY.

The newspapers printed at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune will still be delivered daily. The Naples Daily News also reports customers will not notice any change.

New Media also owns GateHouse Media, and with the recent Gannett merger is the largest newspaper publisher.
