Ava Laplacha. Photo via CCPD A missing girl in Cape Coral that sparked a large search Tuesday morning has been found safe. Cape Coral police located Ava Laplace, 10, after hours of searching at the Northwest Regional Library. Several agencies teamed up to find her using surveillance video from a nearby Dollar Store. At the time she disappeared, officers weren’t sure if it was suspicious or not, so no AMBER alert was sent out. Neighbors say they were very worried and are glad she was found safe. Neighbor Verna Haley woke up to police officers searching her neighborhood. “They were getting ready to go to school and her dad was walking the dog, when he came back into the home her uniform was on the bed and her backpack and shoes were gone and she was gone as well,” Haley said.
