Police searching for man accused of sexual assault in North Port

North Port Police Department is seeking the public’s help to share information about a man accused of committing a recent sexual assault.

According to the City of North Port, a female victim reported being sexually battered by a man Sunday, Dec. 8.

The victim told police the suspect was just over 5-feet tall and between the ages of 50 to 60. The victim further described the suspect as having a normal, non-muscular build, along with having twists in his hair and a deep, raspy voice.

The victims said the suspect wore a cream-colored, long-sleeve shirt with brown stripes across the chest. He also wore flannel pants that had white spots and wore sneakers.

The suspect was last seen traveling on a bicycle with blue and green-striped fenders over the wheels.

He was last seen in the area of Tamiami Trail (US-41) at the intersection with Pan American Boulevard going northbound.
