Students decorate Christmas tree for North Collier Fire Department

Just two weeks away from Christmas, North Collier Fire Rescue is getting in the holiday spirit with a new Christmas tree, but they couldn’t put it up without some help from Village School students.

The students were really excited to decorate the the tree with all handmade ornaments made by the kindergartners at the school.

The North Collier Fire Department says their budget allowed for them to purchase a Christmas tree, but they had no money to decorate so the Village school chipped in to help.

They colored the ornaments and placed them on the tree. Teachers at the school say it was a way for them to help out the community.

“It’s doing good for our community, teaching them that it’s not a holiday that you receive, it’s also to give and feel good about yourself to help others,” kindergarten teacher Raquel Rinaldi.

It took the students less than a week to make the decorations. Th school says they will be back again next year to do it again.
