Credit: WINK News. Lee County schools are helping students suffering with mental illness by teaming up with Lee Health to launch a mental health navigator. On Tuesday, the Lee County School Board will vote to approve a proposal that will make it easier for students in the district to get the mental health care they need. The program will be funded through Lee Health’s ‘Kids Minds Matter’ initiative and will place mental health navigators in local elementary schools. That navigator, or expert, will help families find the right treatments and programs for their child. Lee County schools and Lee Health are meeting Monday morning to discuss the program. Trust WINK News to have updates on that meeting as updates are provided.
