A Lehigh Acres man was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 15 years of Sex Offender Probation for one count each of Sexual Battery with Threat of Force on a Child Under the age of 18 and Kidnapping, according to State Attorney Amria D. Fox.

Elgron Lamar Taylor, 52, pleaded guilty Tuesday and is now a designated sexual predator after he kidnapped and sexually attacked a 15-year-old girl. He entered the plea just before his trial was supposed to begin.

The crimes occurred over the course of two days in February 2018 in Lehigh Acres. Taylor slowed his car when he saw the girl walking and got her to get in his car. He then took her back to his home, which had a detached garage. He pulled into the garage, where he held his collection of sports cars, and took the girl to the attic above the garage where he sexually battered her.

Later the next morning, Taylor was driving her away from his property in his trunk when the girl escaped the car by kicking her way out of the back seat and stumbled into the road.

A neighbor pressure washing outside saw this happen and called 911. Taylor then fled but came back and got the girl into a work van. A second neighbor also saw this happen.

Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to the scene. Meanwhile, Taylor let the girl out of his car in a wooded area and fled the scene. She yelled for help and deputies came to her aid. Additional deputies stopped the van and took Taylor into custody.

“Today’s plea alleviates the victim from having to face her attacker in court and relive what
happened to her and also holds Taylor accountable for his crimes,” said Fox.
