The Tuesday before Thanksgiving is the day troopers handout the most tickets for dangerous driving during the holiday.

On this day, last year, more than 37,000 tickets were given out. The majority of the fines were given to people driving over the speed limit. It’s important to remember that nowhere in Florida is the speed limit over 70 MPH.

The second reason, drivers running red lights, both of which are key recipes for crashes.

So for you to be safe as possible when out on the road, it’s important to check your tires before heading out. Air pressure and tire tread are two things that really matter.

It’s also important to buckle up, as 41-percent of people killed in crash weren’t wearing their seat belt.

Another safety tip is to make a list of emergency contacts and put it inside your car. If you or your family end up in trouble, troopers want to know who to get ahold of.
