MGN The Lee County Sheriff’s Office wants to warn residents of a scam call that they have received several complaints about. Multiple citizens have complained of a call from someone claiming to be an LCSO employee. The caller states that the person has missed jury duty and tells them they must pay a fine. LCSO wants to remind the public that they will not call and solicit money over the phone and that this is a scam that has been used over the years. They urge anyone that has paid and given these individuals any money to please call them at 239-477-1000 to report it. If you ever question the legitimacy of a caller stating they are an employee with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, you can call their main line (the same number listed above) to verify the call.
