Victims named in serious Charlotte County crash

A two-vehicle crash in Charlotte County on Monday morning has left two Lee County men with serious injuries and facing criminal charges.

The crash happened around 7:55 a.m. at Interstate 75 near mile marker 159.5, which is between Tucker Grate and Jones Loop Rd., in the northbound lanes. Victor Woodard, 56, from Cape Coral was driving a Ford Transit with two passengers, Quajay Williams, 26, who lives in Fort Myers and Jahiem Douse, 18, from Cape Coral. A 62-year-old Miami man, Manuel Reyes, was driving a Freight Truck.

The Ford was moving in the northbound center lane of I-75 and the Truck was traveling in the northbound right lane. When the Ford moved into the northbound right lane, the right side of the vehicle was struck by the truck. According to the Florida Highway Patrol press accident report, the Ford rotated clockwise, overturned and all three occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

The three men have been taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Woodard and Williams have serious injuries. Those two men face a charge of Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Woodard also faces a charge of Improper Lane Change.
