Allegiant Airlines has announced a new, nonstop route from Punta Gorda to Virginia.

The service will begin Feb. 13, 2020 traveling to and from Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) to and from Richmond, Virginia via the Richmond International Airport (RIC.)

To celebrate the addition, Allegiant will be offering one-way fares on the new route starting as low as $65.

“We are excited to announce that our service to the Punta Gorda Airport continues to expand to yet another city,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “We know this route will be highly sought after by travelers looking for a warm winter getaway.”

The seasonal flights will operate twice weekly and bring an additional 15,000 travelers to Charlotte County.

“We’re delighted that Allegiant is adding the history-rich capital of Virginia to PGD’s growing list of destinations,” said Punta Gorda Airport CEO James W. Parish. “Our community looks forward to inviting new visitors from Richmond to experience Punta Gorda and Englewood Beach.”
