Collier County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation and administrative review after a jail inmate died Monday following injuries he suffered during a confrontation with another inmate.

According to CCSO’s Facebook post, the victim was taken to NCH Baker Hospital Downtown in Naples, where he died from his injuries.

The sheriff’s office says there was a disagreement between the victim and another inmate that led to a confrontation between the two men, which resulted in injuries to the victim that led to his death.

It is not currently know when the confrontation took place at the Collier County jail.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the state attorney’s office, and the District 20 Medical Examiner’s Office are conducting the investigation.
