A Fort Myers man is facing DUI charges after he was involved in a three-vehicle wreck with a Lee County Sheriff’s Office marked patrol vehicle early Sunday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Gregory Caldwell, 50, was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 heading east on SR-80 in the outside lane around 1:45 a.m.

The marked LCSO vehicle was stopped in the outside lane conducting a traffic stop on another driver in a 2002 GMC 1500.

Caldwell failed to stop or move over, subsequently striking the rear of the patrol car. The LCSO vehicle was then propelled forward, striking the GMC.

The deputy sustained minor injuries. Caldwell and the driver of the GMC were not injured.

Caldwell now faces DUI with Injury, DUI with Property Damage and Careless Driving charges.
