Thursday marks one month since the murders of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz, and still no charges have been made.

Police call Wade Wilson a person of interest, and he reportedly confessed to the crimes on a jail house call to an ex-girlfriend. He’s currently in jail for a different case.

Thursday morning, police tell WINK News that detectives are working diligently and very closely with the State Attorney’s office to make sure this case is successfully prosecuted.

That means getting a conviction. You saw that careful dedication at the Melton’s home a month ago, when police gathered evidence for more than 2 days.

Police then found the body of Diane Ruiz in the woods just blocks away from where she worked.

Wade Wilson has been named a person of interest in both cases.

WINK News obtained surveillance video that showed a car just like Melton’s possibly being driven by Wilson in the neighborhood where Ruiz vanished.

Right now, Wilson is already behind bars being held on burglary and battery charges. While he has been locked up, he made several disturbing phone calls to his ex-girlfriend, where he admitted the murders and why he did it.

And just a few days ago, we saw him in court with a huge swastika on his head.

While no charges have been filed, police are confident they have the right guy.
