(Credit: The Yah Yah Girls, Inc. “Home of The Back Pack Kidz”) For the 10th year, volunteers are trying to make sure students in Charlotte County do not go hungry when they are not at school. These kids will be receiving backpacks full of food to compensate for the lack of food at home. “Our mission is to feed all the hungry children in Charlotte County,” said Jolene Mowry, who started Back Pack Kidz. “Friday night I go to bed and I sleep like a baby because I know the children are eating.” Reporter Michelle Mackonochie spoke to the woman behind the program.
