Access roads to Pine Island blocked after single vehicle crash

Please be advised that all access roads to Pine Island are blocked. According to Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a single-vehicle crash resulted in a downed power pole East of Matlacha, blocking both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

The access road will be closed for the next few hours as Lee County Electric Cooperative works to clear the area, per the LCSO press release. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
