KCBS reports the first unofficial day of holiday shopping season began Saturday.

If you haven’t already, expect to see holiday décor and sales at most retail locations.

The day after Halloween, Christmas toys are already being seen piled high at entrances to big box stores nationwide.

“It’s ridiculous,” Matthew Walker said. “We haven’t even gotten through Thanksgiving. And they had that stuff out before Halloween.”

Anyone who thinks the holiday sales are hitting the stores sooner than usual this year are correct because the 2019 holiday shopping season is almost a week shorter than usual. This is partially due to Thanksgiving and Black Friday falling later in the month of November.

In response, stores like Walmart, Target and Best Buy are offering holiday deals ahead of schedule.
