An East Naples man is facing felony charges after sexually abusing a child under the age of 12, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Manuel DeJesus Serrano, 46, is charged with three counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Victim Under 12.

According to a report, the victim told her sister she was being sexually abused by Serrano daily.

The victim’s sister then set up an iPhone in the room where the abuse was taking place and set it to record in order to capture video of the crime.

When detectives arrived at the scene, Serrano was arrested and the iPhone was taken into evidence.

Following his arrest Wednesday, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer was placed on Serrano through ICE’s 287(g) program. ICE lodges detainers on individuals arrested on criminal charges when ICE has probable cause to show they are removable aliens.

Once Serrano has satisfied his local criminal charges he will be released into ICE custody. The 287(g) program is a law enforcement tool and serves as a deterrent to criminal illegal aliens.
