A drunk driver who drove in the wrong direction on Pine Island Rd. in Cape Coral in April, killing a father and son in a head-on collision, will serve the next 20 years in prison.

William Frederick Bohl was sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by 10 years of state probation and a suspended driver’s license for life, after pleading guilty to two counts of DUI Manslaughter.

Two vehicles approached each other along Pine Island Rd. on April 29 around 10:30 p.m. According to the Cape Coral Police Dept., each vehicle swerved toward the middle lane to avoid a crash. Unfortunatley, they both collided head-on.

Kevin Wayne Hamm, 46, and Christian Hamm, 20, both died from the crash. One victim, Christan, died at the scene. The second victim, Kevin, died after he was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, CCPD said.
