A former Marco Island tennis instructor has been sentenced to life in prison after he sexually molested two young girls, according to State Attorney Amira D. Fox.

Christopher Pearson, 52, got a life sentence for one count of Sexual Battery of a Victim Under 12. He was also sentenced to an additional 25 years in prison on each of two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation of a Victim Under 12, to be served concurrently.

In addition, Pearson was sentenced to lifetime sexual offender probation on both of the lewd counts. He was found guilty following a trial in Collier County back in January.

Pearson is said to have been a family friend of the victims. He was arrested in 2016 following an investigation by the Marco Island Police Department.

Assistant State Attorneys Deborah Cunningham and Kiely Keesler prosecuted the case.
