Wednesday, a few good Samaritans at Wildcat Run Golf & Country Club in Estero noticed a feathered creature in distress and came to its rescue.

Neighbors saw what appeared to be two anhinga, native water birds, in some kind of trouble. One was seemingly helping the other remove a plastic that had forced the bird’s beak shut.

The good Samaritans acted and were able to free the bird from distress and possibly worse.
