Driver’s license. (Credit: FHSMV) If somebody says your driver’s license is getting changed, be careful. Collier County Sheriff’s Office said several people reported they were notified their driver’s license was being renewed when they never requested a renewal or update. If you believe your driver license has been renewed without your consent, report it immediately to the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Fraud Section at fraud@flhsmv.gov or call 1-850-617-2405. You may also visit the Identity Theft & Driver License Fraud Protection page for more details. In addition, if you believe there was unauthorized access to your driver license via the “Go Renew” online feature, report this to the FLHSMV’s Fraud Analysis Unit by e-mailing GoRenewSupport@FLHSMV.gov or call 1-850-617-2010. While the FLHSMV is the leading agency to investigate these reports, Collier County Sheriff’s Office also encourages you to file a report through them by calling its non-emergency line at 239-252-9300.
