FMPD found a body under a carport along Dunbar Avenue

The Fort Myers Police Department say they were called to a house at 3025 Dunbar Avenue Monday afternoon and discovered an unknown man’s body in the carport.

Officers say that the man was laying on a mattress and along with Lee County EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.  The area was secured, and officers questioned the homeowner and searched the surrounding neighborhood to ask about the man’s identity.

FMPD Detectives were called to investigate and the body was retrieved by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
