FMPD homicide suspect surrenders at Lee County Jail

A suspect in an August shooting in Fort Myers has turned himself into the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

The suspect, Shyheem Anthony Taylor, 19, faces charges of attempted robbery, felony murder and aggravated battery with a firearm causing great harm.

Taylor was wanted for an Aug. 20 shooting on the 2000 block of French St. in Fort Myers. The suspect turned himself into LCSO on Monday around 10:30 p.m. after learning he was sought by the Fort Myers Police Department.

Taylor has been booked into Lee County Jail.
