Collier County officials are holding a news conference in reference to Hurricane Dorian.

There county will continue to monitor the situation with Dorian. There are currently no hurricane shelters open in Collier County but preparations are still underway in case they need to be used.

The county is under a partial emergency activation as the situation is closely monitored. More fuel has been ordered along with three tractor trailers of bottled water and 10 additional ambulances, all from the state.

The partial activation will bring 15 key agencies to the county instead of 50.

Additionally, Charlotte County has deactivated their Emergency Operations Center, and is continuing to monitor the storm. Their local state of emergency will remain in effect until Sept. 6.
