Hurricane Dorian: School closures status in Southwest Florida

As Hurricane Dorian dodges Southwest Florida, all public schools and universities have announced they are back to normal operations as of Wednesday.

As more announcements are made, we will continue to update this list.

  • Florida Gulf Coast University will be open Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • Florida SouthWestern State College will be open Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • DeSoto County schools will be open Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • Hendry County schools will be open Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • Glades County schools will be open Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • Collier County Schools will be open Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • Charlotte County Schools announced school will be open Tuesday, Sept. 3; however, the three Year Round Schools in the school district will not per standard operation schedule.
  • Lee County Schools will be open Tuesday, Sept. 3 and maintain a normal schedule.
