Hurricane Dorian: FPL activates emergency response plan

Florida Power & Light Company announced it has activated its emergency response plan for Hurricane Dorian in the state Thursday.

This means FPL will have nearly 13,000 employees and additional personnel secured to help restore power in the event they occur throughout the state due to impacts from the storm.

MORE FPL RESPONSE ITEMS:

  • Actively working with utilities nationwide to secure additional crews and equipment and pre-position these resources in advance of landfall
  • Proactively reaching out to customers before Dorian’s projected landfall
  • Urging customers to make preparations and take safety precautions

Customers can download the FPL app by texting the word “App” to MyFPL (69375) or enroll in alerts by texting the word “Join” to MyFPL (69375).
