A weather disturbance located over the Bahamas is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

Development of this system is possible over the weekend or early next week, as it moves toward the Florida peninsula and then the southeastern United States.

The National Hurricane Center has the formation chance over the next two days near 30%, and the formation chance over the next 5 days increases to 50%.

There are rain average summer rain chances in Southwest Florida Friday, and the forecast is drier Saturday.

WINK News Weather Authority reports the disturbance will likely be headed north of the east coast of Florida by the time it could strength into a tropical depression.
