Police identify Fort Myers man killed in French St. shooting

Xavier Lynndale Williams, 20, was fatally shot Tuesday evening, according to the Fort Myers Police Department.

Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, FMPD responded to a shooting along French St. and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Williams died from his gunshot injuries. Two other people were also shot, suffering non-life-threatening injuries from the incident, according to a FMPD press release.

Around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, FMPD removed Williams’ body from a home.

FMPD continues to search for the shooting suspect, but has no answers at this time.
