Naples Police Department. Credit: WINK News. Naples Police Department arrested William Simpson, 39 for assaulting an off-duty Marco Island police officer in downtown Naples early Saturday morning. According to Marco Island Police Department, Officer Hunter Howell let his department supervisor know he had been to the hospital to treat injures after he was hit by Simpson around 1:36 a.m. at 457 5th Avenue S, the address for Paddy Murphy’s Irish Pub. Simpson was arrested by Naples police and faces a charge for Battery. No further information is available currently while the incident remains under active investigation.
