North Port Police are looking for Robert Steven Harrelson (41) 5’5′ 170. He is wanted on multiple felonies for drugs and weapons.

North Port Police Department is searching for a wanted suspect who fled police on foot near Cranberry Elementary School in North Port Thursday.

The suspect, Robert Steven Harrelson, 41, is described as being 5’5′ and 170 lbs. He is wanted on multiple felonies for drugs and weapons. Police advise if you see him to call 911.

NPPD posted on its Facebook page that residents in the area along South Cranberry Boulevard and Spice Lane may notice a high police presence due to the response.

The police department is not letting elementary school children who walk or ride home alone into the area NPPD is responding to, so it advises the public to expect delays in school dismissal. All other parent pick up and bus operations remain the same as usual.

Buses from nearby high schools and middle school were also not allowed to enter the response area.

The intersection of Spice Ln. and S Cranberry Blvd. is south of the elementary school near Saving Embrace Anglican Church.

Police advise nearby homeowners to lock their doors and stay at home until NPPD issues an update.
