A Deputy is in the middle of a death investigation. Officers with the Cape Coral Police Dept. still have an entire neighborhood blocked off on Tuesday evening.

Dakota Ziegler grew up across the street from the house under investigation by CCPD. He said he did not know the people living at the home on a personal level.

“I know them more on a neighborly passing, ‘hey, how’s your day been? How’s work?’ Type level,” Ziegler said.

CCPD said it received a domestic violence call around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said one of its Deputies, who was off duty at the time, is involved and is cooperating in the death investigation.

They told WINK News the deputy’s mother ran to another house asking for help while she had a big gash on her head.

“They’ve never displayed any type of you know, actions that would ever seem like it would go in that direction,” Ziegler said.
