A Naples girl is inspiring compassion in her community. The 8-year-old Laurel Oak Elementary student is helping several families in need start the school year.

Her goal is sweeter than sugar. Her mission is sprinkled with compassion, and her age is proof you are never too young to give back.

Alexa Bick makes a difference by creating scrubs, good-smelling skincare products and sells them around her Naples neighborhood. It is all a way to help Southwest Florida families in need.

“Alexa’s always had an interest in helping other people,” said Stacy Bick, Alexa’s mother. “As we’re getting ready to go back to school, we had a conversation around how some kids couldn’t afford backpacks or school supplies.”

“That’s why I want to help them,” Alexa said.

And Alexa does help. Her business brought in more than $100 in profits this summer. She has allocated the money to purchase school supplies to donate to Eva’s Closet, which is a non-profit that helps those in need.

“I donated backpacks full of school supplies,” Alexa said, “and I also have them clean clothes.”

She said Alexa’s Love Scrub will continue to grow and give every dime it makes to local charities. Her enthusiasm and hard work is inspiring people by spreading scrub to spread support to those who need it.

“Love Scrub shares love all around the world,” Alexa said.
