Credit: AP News. The Sarasota County School District is making changes to a school bus route in North Port due to the proximity of a registered sex offender near the bus stop. The changes apply to students who live at the corner of South Salford Blvd. and Allure Lane. They will have a new bus stop. According to Sarasota County Schools, the revision in routing may affect students attending Cranberry Elementary, Heron Creek Middle School and North Port High School. RELATED: Florida sexual offenders and predators search While the students will have a new bus stop, the pickup and dropoff times will “remain similar without delays,” Sarasota County Schools said in a press release. The Sarasota County Schools Transportation Department is in the process of notifying families with the new location before school begins on Monday.
