Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno, left, and Deanna Williams, right. The paternity suit against Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno will go on for now. Marceno’s attorney went to court late Tuesday afternoon to ask a magistrate to dismiss the case. The attorney argued that the woman who filed the suit, Deanna Williams, has not shown up for court and has not made herself available for a paternity test. Williams did not show up for court Tuesday. Williams told WINK News in late June that the baby passed away shortly before he was due to be born. The magistrate said he did not have any evidence or testimony to make a ruling. He said he would review Williams’ previous no shows at court and ask her to justify why the case should not be dismissed.
