Jesse Lozano. Photo via WINK News Punta Gorda police say they have arrested the suspect accused of robbing a Chase bank on Tuesday afternoon. According to PGPD, officers responded to a robbery at the Chase bank at 911 Tamiami Trail around 5:30 p.m. During the investigation bank employees told officers Jesse Lozano entered the bank and asked to withdraw money from his bank account. However, after Lozano provided identification and his social security number, the bank was unable to locate an account. That’s when Lozano pulled out a note demanding money be handed over to him, and threatened that he had a weapon on him. Lozano then left the bank with an unknown amount of money on him. When officers arrived on scene they were provided with the information Lozano had given the bank as well as photos of him from security footage. As his residence is located outside of the city limits detectives requested that the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office respond to Lozano’s residence. A short time later deputies advised that the green pickup truck was in the driveway and that they were able to make contact with Lozano. Lozano denied any involvement, but detectives recovered evidence related to the robbery in his home and vehicle. Lozano was arrested and charged with Robbery and Grand Theft.
