Tropical Satellite Fly. Photo via WINK News Weather The WINK Weather Team is currently monitoring a tropical wave that is likely to become a Tropical Depression over the next week. Even Tropical Storm Chantal is possible. This tropical wave, called Invest 96L, is batting dry dusty air right now. However in the days ahead it will overcome it (and along with better upper air support) will likely strengthen. TROPICAL UPDATE: Tropical Depression likely in the Atlantic ahead (#Invest96L). TS Chantal is possible. Some models push it into the Bahamas, others curve it out to sea. Too early to tell, I’ll keep you posted! It’ll be in the Leeward Islands early next week pushing west/northwest. After that point it’s too early to determine where the system ends up. Chance of development is at 20 percent for the next 48 hours. There is a large range in model possibilities. The WINK Weather Team will be the first to let you know the latest on the potential tropical system.
