Recall: Taco seasonings may contain salmonella

The FDA reports Williams Foods LLC is recalling taco seasoning products sold in Florida and 43 other states for fear of possible salmonella contamination.

The taco seasonings contain cumin spice. The initial recall was made by the company’s spice supplier, Mincing Spice Co., which is recalling a specific lot of cumin it produced because a sample from it was tested positive for salmonella contamination.

The product labels by Williams Foods below are subject to the recall:

The potentially affected product consists of retail packages weighing 1 – 1.25 oz.

Other states and places the products are being recalled from include Washington D.C and the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WY.

Anyone who has purchased these taco seasoning products is warned not to eat them. They should be thrown away or returned to where they were bought.
