Paul C. Hiltz NCH announced to employees Friday that Paul C. Hiltz with lead the Collier County-based health system as their new CEO. Hiltz is coming from Canton, Ohio where he served as the President and CEO of Mercy Medical Center. Prior to that, he was a Senior Executive with Mercy Health (formerly Catholic Health Partners) in Cincinnati. Hiltz has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing / Communication Arts from Xavier University and a Masters in Health and Hospital Administration, also from Xavier University. On January 23, the NCH Healthcare Board of Trustees held an executive session where they voted unanimously to accept the resignations of now-former CEO Dr. Allen Weiss and Kevin Cooper, effective immediately. Controversy began after a pilot program launched that would have NCH doctors assume care of patients once they have been admitted, eliminating primary care providers from seeing patients at the hospital. Public outcry led to rallies where patients voiced concern. Moving forward with the program was then reconsidered.
