A Fort Myers police officer suffered minor injuries from a crash Tuesday evening and was found not at fault.

On Tuesday around 11:45 p.m., a Fort Myers Police Department officer was on routine patrol duty while driving north on Cleveland Ave. approaching Carrell Rd.

As the officer approached the intersection, another vehicle attempted a left-hand turn onto Cleveland Ave., moving into the path of the patrol vehicle, the FMPD press release states. The cars collided. Both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

The Lee County Sherriff’s Office Traffic unit was called in to assume the investigation, the press release states, and found the officer to not be at fault.
