Police said that an impaired and reckless driver intentionally rammed into another vehicle Saturday, leading the victims to fear for their lives.

The suspect, Shazam Juman, 26, faces charges of two counts of Aggravated Assault With Deadly weapon, DUI, DUI With Property Damage, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Mischief.

The reporting person observed a white pick-up truck recklessly pull out of the Yucapan area onto the 2400 block of Burnt Store Rd., doing donuts and stopping traffic in both directions.  The white pick-up truck then intentionally accelerated straight into a Porsche Cayenne on Burnt Store Rd. head on, causing severe damage, the Cape Coral Police Dept. press release states.

The white truck then backed up and again smashed head-on into the same occupied vehicle. Officer Ross located the suspect vehicle southbound from that location moments later and white pick-up truck was stopped at the 7-Eleven at Burnt Store Road and Tropicana Pkwy, per the press release.

Juman showed signs of impairment and was slow to exit the vehicle.  A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from Juman’s person and breath, according to the press release. The two occupants of the Porsche gave statements that they felt like they were going to be killed by the driver of the white pick-up truck. Juman refused a breath test.

Juman has been taken to Lee County Jail.
