Suspects steal truck and firearms, show-off stolen “loot” in photos

Three Cape Coral teenagers are suspected of grand theft. Police found the suspects bragging about their stolen “loot” in photos.

The charges the suspects face include, Grand Theft of Vehicle and Grand Theft of a Firearm charges for a 16-year-old; Grand Theft of a Firearm and 8-Warrants for Failing to Appear for a 17-year-old; and Burglary to a Vehicle, Grand Theft, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm Under the Age of 18 for a 16-year-old.

Cape Coral Police Department responded to three separate incidents in April, the press release states. A Ford F-250 with construction and bee equipment at the 2000 block NW 3rd Ave. was stolen overnight on April 6. The truck would later be located and returned.

A second victim, living on 40 block of NW 26th St. had a Glock 43 handgun stolen from the center console of his car, which was parked at his driveway, overnight on April 8.

A third victim, living on the 3000 block of NW 9th Ter had items stolen from his Dodge Grand Caravan on April 9.

Evidence collected and a series of photos and videos of the suspects bragging about their stolen “loot” lead police to arrest them, the CCPD press release states.

They are now at the Juvenile Assessment Center.
