Intoxicated driver accused of killing two in Cape Coral wrong-way crash

The life of a father and son are tragically cut short after police say a man was driving drunk and crashed into them head-on.

William Frederick Bohl, 35, is accused of causing a fatal crash after going the wrong direction on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

According to Cape Coral Police, as the two vehicles approached each other, they both swerved towards the middle lane to avoid the crash and collided head-on.

The victims of the crash, Kevin Wayne Hamm, 46, and Christian Hamm, 20, both from Cape Coral, died from their injuries in the crash. Christian was pronounced dead at the scene, and Kevin died after being transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Bohl was charged with two counts of DUI Manslaughter, DUI with Property Damage, and a Probation Violation Warrant.
