1 injured, 7 structures destroyed in Highlands County fire

Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and Highlands County Fire Rescue responded to fire at a propane warehouse on Twitty Road near Sebring Monday.

The sheriff’s office said at least seven structures were lost to the fire at a trailer park across from the propane facility.

According to the sheriff’s office facebook page, U.S. 27 is back open; however, Twitty Rd. is still closed between U.S. 27 and Shelby Street.

One person was taken to a nearby hospital to treat burn injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
